New Year, New Resolutions!
New Year always comes with new reporting requirements.
Beginning January, 1, 2015, all employers under federal OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) jurisdiction will have to comply with its new reporting requirements for injury and illness.
There have been two changes to current requirements:
- The criteria under which employers must report certain incidents
- The list of industries that are exempt from keeping injury and illness records
New Reporting Requirements
|Beginning Jan 1, 2015|
|8 hours||Work-related fatalities must be reported within 8 hours|
|24 hours||Hospitalization of 1 or more people or amputation or loss of an eye must be reported within 24 hours|
|New Industries||New industries are now included, such as automobile dealers, building materials and supplies dealers.|
