It’s Spring! At Enablon, Spring season also means that it’s “SPF season” where we prepare our two big SPF conferences: SPF Americas and SPF EMEA. The first of the two conferences will be SPF Americas in Chicago on June 19-21.
There are many compelling reasons to attend SPF Americas 2019. Here are the top five that will give you an idea of what to expect.
1) Get Inspired to Achieve the Impossible
Last year’s keynote featured Alison Levine, team captain of the first American Women’s Everest Expedition. Alison climbed the Seven Summits and skied to the North and South Poles.
This year we decided to also have a keynote that aims to inspire attendees to rise to new heights. Lewis Pugh will be joining us to deliver the keynote presentation on June 20. Lewis is an ocean advocate, pioneer swimmer and explorer. He undertook the first swim across the sub-zero waters of the North Pole. He is the only person to have completed a long-distance swim in every ocean of the world.
In his keynote on Achieving the Impossible, Lewis will explain how he has learned to harness the energy that comes from overcoming extraordinary odds. He will inspire attendees to rise to their own internal challenges and make a difference.
On March 2019, Lewis spoke during the 70th Anniversary of the Commonwealth. Queen Elizabeth II and dignitaries from across the world were present. And now, SPF Americas attendees will also get to hear from Lewis.
2) Eight Different Tracks
Whether you work in safety, environmental compliance, risk management, operations, sustainability, IT, supply chain, or product stewardship, you can be sure that you will find sessions tailored to your needs. SPF Americas will feature many tracks, eight to be precise:
- Health & Safety
- Environmental Management
- Compliance Management
- Integrated Risk Management
- Control of Work
- Product Stewardship & Compliance
- Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Innovation & Technology
If you need to convince your manager to approve your trip to SPF Americas, you can show them that there is a track of sessions that is directly pertinent to your line of work.
3) Learn About Enablon and eVision Integrations
In October 2018, Wolters Kluwer, our parent company, acquired eVision, a global leader in industrial operational risk management software for the oil & gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, and other high-risk and high-precision industries. Together, Enablon and eVision help companies better navigate through the growing convergence of EHS, Risk and Operations.
At SPF Americas, the Control of Work track will feature eVision experts who will talk about process safety challenges and how to overcome them. They will also explain how to better manage safe work permits. But there’s more! At SPF Houston in April, we already provided examples of integrations between Enablon and eVision solutions. At SPF Americas, attendees will see concrete, tangible use cases of integrations and what it means for organizations that need to align EHS and operational risk management.
4) Get Insights From a Top Analyst
What’s better than one interesting keynote? Answer: two interesting keynotes. David Metcalfe, CEO and co-founder of Verdantix, will deliver the keynote presentation on June 21. Verdantix has been the leading independent research firm for over 10 years with expertise in EHS, quality, and operational risk technologies. The Verdantix Green Quadrant EHS Software 2019 report is the gold standard regarding the benchmark of the leading EHS software providers.
Verdantix sees a growing realization that EHS performance has a significant impact on operational and therefore financial performance. Risk-centric EHS management systems are delivering superior results to compliance-centric approaches.
At SPF Americas, David will discuss how the convergence of EHS and Operational Risk Management can help generate synergies that both reduce risk and drive operational excellence.
5) Demystifying Industry 4.0: Going Beyond Buzzwords
Whether you’re ready or not, Industry 4.0 is here, and it will change companies, especially how data is collected and used. With Industry 4.0 and digital transformation, there will be greater exchange of information of physical assets/systems with each other and with humans. Expect a greater share of machine-generated data (and therefore a larger quantity of data available to be processed) through sensors, beacons and drones connected via the IoT.
All of this may seem overwhelming, but the opportunities are endless. At SPF Americas you will learn more about how advanced analytics and artificial intelligence can be leveraged for predictive insights.
Industry 4.0 is not just about technology. It’s also about initiating a fundamental shift, one where you evolve from reactively complying and reporting, to proactively predicting and preventing incidents even before they happen. At SPF Americas you’ll see exactly how that works!
In addition to the top five items above, here are some “honorable mentions” that contribute to make SPF Americas what it is:
- Industry user groups on June 19 for clients, where they can learn best practices from their peers.
- Also on June 19, the Customer Innovation Challenge, where customers can work on great ideas for new features and functionality, some of which are then developed.
- Networking opportunities with attendees in similar roles, industry experts, thought leaders, and Enablonians. Many productive business relationships start at SPF.
- More information on the Enablon roadmap and the new innovations being rolled out.
Finally, SPF Americas will take place at a brand new venue this year: the Marriott Marquis, the new, four-star hotel in downtown Chicago. There’s a stunning view of the Chicago skyline from the upper floors of the venue. You’ll see the city like you never have before!
