SASB and GRI announced last month that they will move forward soon with a Bloomberg-funded effort to bring their standards in line with each other wherever possible. The joint effort is aimed at simplifying reporting standards to align with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). Read more
The Paris Agreement’s goal to reduce the risk of dangerous climate change can be achieved if GHG emissions peak by 2020, halve by 2030 and then halve again by 2040 and 2050. This roadmap focuses on the immediate priorities, and has three purposes: 1) communicate the pace, scale and systemic nature of the necessary economic transformation, 2) connect the exponential scaling potentials in the digital revolution to the climate challenge, and 3) support momentum across policy, markets and technology. CSRHub launched its ESGHub app on the Bloomberg App Portal. Bloomberg Terminal subscribers can access the ESG disclosure and ratings performance of companies in portfolios, indexes or other financial instruments. Subscribers can compare metrics from Bloomberg and CSRHub at the portfolio level and drill down on the details associated with more than 9,000 companies representing more than 90% of the world’s market capitalization. The app generates a scoring matrix to compare Bloomberg’s analysis of corporate sustainability performance with CSRHub’s data. Read more
Scope 3 emissions often comprise the largest part of a company’s total emissions. Setting Scope 3 goals is just the first step. Companies making Scope 3 commitments still need to determine how to track emissions reductions and provide guidance to their suppliers on implementing best practices and collecting data.
