L’Oréal is the world’s largest cosmetics and beauty company. It owns commercial brands such as Maybelline and Garnier, and luxury brands such as Lancôme, Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Cacharel, Diesel, Biotherm, and professional salon brands such as Redken, and Kérastase. L’Oréal also conducts cosmetology and dermatologic research and owns dermo-cosmetic brands including Skinceuticals, La Roche-Posay, and Vichy. L’Oréal recently acquired UK-based natural cosmetics retailer The Body Shop International.
L’Oréal employs more than 67,662 people and had sales of $24.5 billion in 2008.
